C1 Jazz

C1 Jazz

The Flavor of C1 Jazz is an original smooth Jazz sound that blends Gospel, Latin, R & B, Funk and Blues.

C1 Jazz is a delightful mix of gifted musicians who came together for the purpose of creating smooth sounds and making people groove.

On May 4, 2005, four men came together lead by Ron Williams to give their first performance at a charity event. The band became in demand and as a result C1 Jazz was born.

Ron Williams heads the band as the lead guitarist. Keyboardist Carlos Peterson directs the music. Willie Chanbliss holds down the beat as the drummer. Jesse Reyes lays down the bottom on bass and the fifth additions is the golden voice of Michael "The Bishop" Stephens on sax.

Dot Wilder

Jazz singer, Dot Wilder, has developed a unique style of jazz vocals. Her influences include Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan, and Abbey Lincoln, but her innovative sound and style have taken jazz to a new level.
She and the artists with whom she performs have developed a wide range of expressions which include an imaginative method of infusing fresh new ideas into traditional and contemporary styles. Occasionally she inserts her own original material.

Surprisingly, Dot's performances appeal to a wide age range due to the timeless music performed, youth of the band members and the universal appeal of jazz.

Dot Wilder has received numerous awards, acclaim and recognition for her talent and performances including twice being the winner of the DOWNBEAT Magazine Student Award, "Outstanding performance of a Jazz Vocalist".

Rebecca Zapen

Rebecca Zapen

Versatile violinist, vocalist, and songwriter Rebecca Zapen's first musical memory was that of sitting under the baby grand piano as a toddler, her ears filled by the sounds of her mother playing Chopin, Beethoven, and Mozart.

Her college years were filled with opera, orchestra, chamber music, and late night jazz jams. The journey continued to twist and unfold, rich in varied musical experiences: Tom Waits tunes via CB radio and Celtic harp, a four-year trip to the Old World in Klezmania, spoken word with eclectic folk, Gypsy jazz.

She walks her present path as a performer of range and depth: a classically-trained violinist, a jazz crooner/violinist in quartet ZapStar, and an award-winning songwriter/composer. Rebecca's dreamy, ethereal vocals swoon and sweep atop sublime melodies and infectiously charming lyrics, instantly hypnotic and effortlessly charming. Accompanying herself on ukulele, guitar, and violin, and joined by double bass, string section, and dobro, Zapen's music is mellow, creative, happy, and smart.

Stevie Fingers Jazz featuring Sabian

Stevie Fingers

Stevie Fingers Jazz

Stevie, a pro keyboardist and vocalist, is the leader of a project he calls Sho-Nuff. This is a culmination of years of backing up such pros in the business as former James Brown band member Teddy Washington, country legend Roger Martin, and a favorite sit in at Chicago’s Kingston Mines blues club. He is joined by Mike Tillis on drums, and Eric Herrin on guitar and vocals.

The focus of this group is to play rock, blues, blues rock, jazz, funk, and country music with a flair to entertain. We promise that there is no one in the business that can truly play “everything” like we can. All three musicians are virtuoso players with a lot of road time. In fact, Stevie and Eric hold bachelor degrees in music.

Always fun and professional, this versatile band is a pleasure to work with in any club or private event setting.
